Tennis Tourney '99
The Initiation
September
18, 1999...the tennis world was
introduced to the phenoms known as Lil' J and Prowler. With their wild
antics and inhuman screams, they would change the tennis scene forever.
Lil'
J would begin with singles competition. He, unfortunately, would suffer
two defeats and end up tied for 13th in the division. Soon afterwards,
he and Prowler would begin their magical journey.
It
started out later that day as Prowler and Lil' J would get set to meet
their opponents. To their surprise, their opponents never showed (nonetheless
fearful of what they were supposed to encouter), so they received a first-round
bye. Later on that day, they would meet their second round opponents.
The match was short and sweet leaving Prowler and Lil' J a bitter defeat.
The two would not play again for two weeks.
Saturday,
October 2, 1999...a phone call arrived to Lil' J at 8:30 in the morning.
Apparently, their opponents never showed allowing them to step into the
spotlight, and receive a chance, albeit a small one, to become the consulation
champion. Lil' J and Prowler were pumped, but in order to win the coveted
title, they had to overcome two obsticles. They came to their first match
pumped. Adorned in face paint, they used an intimidation factor to possibly
help them win. Their efforts were without hope as they lost their first
match.
Sunday,
October 3, 1999...Lil' J and Prowler arrived onto the scene ready for
action. Prowler, toned down his apparel, deciding to use actions instead
of words. Lil' J adorned himself in a sweatsuit, his face paint, as well
as a sandal and a shoe. Using new found knowledge attained from a wise
man, they two set out to conquer the tennis world, but in doing so, they
had to defeat their opponents by shutout. Using Prowler's strong returns
and Lil' J's devastating net skills, the two men fought to the end, but
were unable to reach their goal. Settling for fourth, the two celebrated
anyways to the amazement of spectators, who wondered what was next for
these misguided youth...
